William Gould is a co-founder of MidCap Financial and President of Asset Based and Life Sciences Lending. Prior to joining MidCap Financial, Mr. Gould created and ran the life sciences venture finance practice for Merrill Lynch Capital Healthcare Finance. Mr. Gould also served as a Team Leader responsible for underwriting asset based and specialty real estate loans at Merrill Lynch Capital. From 2001 to 2003, Mr. Gould was a Vice President at GE Capital’s Healthcare Commercial Finance business unit where he led the asset based underwriting group. Mr. Gould also spent four years in the corporate and securities group of the law firm of Hogan and Hartson. Mr. Gould holds a B.A. in Philosophy from Haverford College and a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.
Garrett Fletcher currently heads MidCap Financial’s Asset Based Lending group. Mr. Fletcher has over 20 years of experience originating, structuring and executing structured debt financings for companies. Prior to joining MidCap Financial, Mr. Fletcher was head of asset based underwriting for Merrill Lynch Capital Healthcare Finance. Mr. Fletcher has also worked in various underwriting capacities for GE Capital Healthcare Commercial Finance and its predecessor entities, Heller Healthcare Finance, and Healthcare Financial Partners. Mr. Fletcher holds a B.A. in Biology with Distinction from the University of Virginia.
Bill Rubenstein is an originations officer for MidCap Financial’s Asset Based Lending group. Mr. Rubenstein has over 15 years of experience originating, structuring and executing debt financings for healthcare companies. Prior to joining MidCap Financial, Mr. Rubenstein was a Director for Merrill Lynch Capital’s healthcare unit. Mr. Rubenstein has also held originations positions at DVI Business Credit Corp. and Bank of America’s Healthcare Capital Division. Mr. Rubenstein holds a B.S. in Commerce from DePaul University.
Thomas Couch is an originations officer for MidCap Financial’s Asset Based Lending group. Mr. Couch has over 25 years of experience originating, structuring and executing all types of senior debt facilities to a broad range of healthcare companies in a variety of complex scenarios. Prior to joining MidCap Financial, Mr. Couch was a Director for CapitalSource Healthcare Group. Mr. Couch has also held positions at Merrill Lynch Capital Healthcare Group, and Siemens Financial Services–Healthcare Finance. Mr. Couch has a B.S. from Florida State University.
Bruce Jennings currently directs MidCap Financial’s due diligence services, working primarily with the Asset Based Lending and Real Estate Lending groups. Mr. Jennings has over 10 years of experience in healthcare finance, most recently managing due diligence efforts at Merrill Lynch Capital Healthcare Finance. Mr. Jennings has also worked in various accounting and finance, due diligence and portfolio management roles with GE Capital Healthcare Commercial Finance, Heller Healthcare Finance and Healthcare Financial Partners. Mr. Jennings has an additional eight years experience in the healthcare industry, serving as CFO and Controller with several nursing home, hospice and home health organizations. Mr. Jennings holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Cornell University.
Michael Ciatto is an underwriter in the Asset Based Lending group at MidCap Financial where he is responsible for structuring, negotiating and executing senior financing for middle market healthcare companies. Prior to joining MidCap Financial, Mr. Ciatto was a Vice President in the Financial Sponsors Group in the Investment Banking Division at Barclays Capital, based in Los Angeles. Prior to Barclays, Mr. Ciatto was an Associate in the Investment Banking Division at Credit Suisse. Mr. Ciatto earned his M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and his B.S. in Finance and Management Information Systems from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland.
Nathan Rothschild is an underwriter in MidCap Financial’s Life Science and Asset Based Lending groups where he is responsible for structuring and executing senior financings. Mr. Rothschild has held various roles at MidCap Financial since 2012. He earned his Masters in Finance from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University and a B.A. in Economics and Political Science, summa cum laude, from Vanderbilt University. He is a CFA charterholder.
Tom Clancy is a Vice President in MidCap Financial’s Asset Based Lending Group where he is responsible for structuring, negotiating and executing senior financing for middle market companies. Prior to joining MidCap Financial, Mr. Clancy was a Vice President for a boutique middle market M&A advisory firm, as well as a Senior Manager in Cherry Bekaert’s deal advisory practice. Mr. Clancy earned his B.S. in Analytical Finance and M.S.A. from Wake Forest University. He is a CPA and CFA charterholder.
